For Our Community
The events below have been planned by our community engagement team leader, Karen Babin, for the upcoming year.
While our congregation will have additional events during this time, we have planned these particular opportunities with our broader community in mind.
We want our space of worship to also be known as a community space where all are welcome. Please share and feel free to join!

Fellowship with NOLA Wesley Campus Ministry
Sunday, Sept. 17 - 5:00 PM

Volunteers from our congregation will prepare dinner for the students served by this inclusive campus ministry and enjoy a time of worship and fellowship on this Sunday evening.
Banned Book Fair
Saturday, Sept. 30 - 3 PM to 5 PM
Did you know that groups once tried to ban Charlotte’s Web, Shel Silverstein’s poetry, the beloved series Harry Potter, L’Engle’s A Wrinkle in Time…? As efforts are again being made around the country to censor books, we are hosting a book fair to promote literacy, free intellectual inquiry, and open access to literature.
Blessing of the Pets
We’ll gather in the church courtyard and give a blessing to animals and beloved pets! Bring your furry friends (and others) and enjoy a time together with members of our community. Come join us! The event is open to all members of the community.
Celebrate our 125th Anniversary… and more
Sunday, November 12
Join us for this special day of celebration! After morning worship, we’ll enjoy a meal together, enjoy a concert by Shades of Praise, and celebrate the church’s anniversary and also the completion of the first phase of our Capital Campaign - Sacred Space for All.
Shades of Praise Concert
Sunday, Nov. 12
Shades of Praise (a New Orleans Interracial Gospel Choir) will join us to perform a concert in our sanctuary. Their choir performs contemporary gospel music to introduce gospel to wider audiences across racial and denominational boundaries.
Broadway Bazaar (Arts and Crafts Holiday Market)
Saturday, December 9 - 10 AM to 4 PM
Come support your local artisans and do some holiday shopping at our third “Broadway Bazaar.” Vendors and artisans from the community will be in our fellowship hall near the corner of St. Charles Avenue and Broadway. Stop in and see us!
All events are free.
