Common Prayer

*Beginning in May*

Contemplative and Liturgical

Join us in our chapel for prayer on Wednesdays. We observe mid-day prayer at 11:30 AM. We will also have evening vespers during the month on certain Wednesday evenings at 6:30 PM.

Our style of prayer is both contemplative and liturgical - think prayer in the style of Episcopal or Catholic daily prayer, or imagine an abbreviated worship service without a sermon.

Our gatherings last between 20-30 minutes, and they include responsive liturgical prayers, scripture readings, plenty of silence for meditation, and occasionally we include Holy Communion.

Prayer and Social Justice

We pray together in the belief that by calming our hearts, we can be a loving, calm presence in our anxious, worried world. We pray together because silence and scripture can tune our hearts toward compassionate action in our world. We pray together because we recognize a need to spiritually nourish our souls for the sake of sustaining our efforts to mend the broken places in our world.

Loving One Another, Loving the World

We gather, also, for the sake of being with one another and holding each other in the love of Christ. Our prayer book (compiled by Pastor Marc) maintains gender neutral language and readings that emphasize God’s love for all the world.

All are welcome to join, regardless of background. If you’re seeking a quiet, contemplative space that is geared toward learning to love neighbor, self, and world, come join us!
